Walter Schlomann has worked in film and video since the 1980s...

Born in Brazil, Walter has worked on four continents (South America, Europe, North America and Australia) on projects large and small, for an eclectic clientele ranging from CEOs to rock stars.

Walter has produced/directed a wide breadth of work, from entertaining 3D ride-films to impactful PSA's. Ezra: May His Memory Be For A Blessing, playing in this festival, is his first independent feature length documentary, and it focuses on the issues revolving around teen suicide and mental health. He has previously created programs addressing social issues such as HIV prevention campaigns and sexual abuse issues in the Jewish Orthodox communities. His music video Down At the Drugstore (1990), aired on Time Warner cable in New York and MTV. It was one of the first videos created to generate awareness for the AIDS epidemic.

Walter has always believed in the magic of moving images...and in the power of telling stories. His biggest passion is capturing the extraordinary stories of ordinary people, and recounting them for viewers near and far.
