Matthew John Koppin is an accomplished director and editor with a 14-year track record of producing compelling, award-winning projects. A career documentary filmmaker, Matthew has taken his field-production and guerrilla-filmmaking influences into film and commercial directing, culminating in numerous promotional short films, music videos, and ad spots for brands like Urban Decay, Lexus, New Balance, USA Network, & Sony Pictures.

In 2016, Matthew co-wrote and produced retro/horror feature Made Me Do It. The film was distributed by Indican Pictures. Matthew most recent project Re-Opening marks his narrative directorial debut. Drawing from his documentary roots, the film was accomplished in partnership with producing partners Chris and Kelsey Guerra, leaning into the strengths of the mumblecore and improvisation to achieve the overall mockumentary tone of the project.

Matthew has also filmed and produced documentaries for NGOs and non-profits all over the world, including school projects in Haiti, orphanages in Kenya & Ghana, and medical clinics in Colombia and Peru. Past clients include: Salvation Army, Museum of the Bible, Live Action, Help Portrait, Haiti Hearts Coalition, and Life Without Limbs.
